Well it’s January and hard to believe another year starts. A new year bring new hopes, new opportunities, and the chance for new beginnings.

At Crowned Studio we look for the new year to update our education and clear our palette of last year’s looks to bring in the new years style. This year – Pantone Color Company has named emerald green as its color of the year. While this will not become a hair color of choice, it does play into what other colors will work with such a beautiful jewel tone. Colors like deep reds, clear blondes and rich browns.

Ombre is still a big, but it is the softer ombres that are trending – the softer blending of color tones. Hair styles are featuring soft layers and the hard edges of last year are becoming softer this year.

This also goes for men’s hair – which will be layered, but softer edges and softer spikes. Men’s color will move away from contrasting two-tone and into a natural blend.

Spikes and rivets are still making a play in fashion as are fantasy and royalty. So look for velvets, long coats, and a lot of detail.

Its and exciting time for us at Crowned Studio since its our passion to look forward into fashion to see where our creativity will take us and you.

We can’t wait to talk to you about all the new looks coming into style.

When we opened the doors to Crowned Studio in December 2008 the space was a bit small, but we were in the heart of Old Pasadena and our location had charm. My vision has always been to build an amazing space with a talented team of stylists who are dedicated to their craft. This is why I am very excited and happy that Crowned has found a new home that is right around the corner and only footsteps away from our old location.

On August 1st we are opening our doors at 54 South Raymond Ave. Our new space is larger but continues to reflect our core values of providing exceptional customer service and creating beautiful, fashionable hair! With our new space comes a larger retail area so we can give our clients the products they deserve to keep their locks looking the best at all times. We are also thrilled to be bringing on new team members, we love them and we know you will too!

While so much is changing for us is so many good ways, one thing will always remain the same – you…our clients…are our number one priority!

The mark of a new year a reflective time to remember what worked and what we would like to change. We start the year with resolutions and promises to ourselves that we will make these changes.

I am a big believer in not buying into the idea of having big resolutions and instead I focus on transformation for new year. I kick off the year with cleaning spree and I take a hard look in the mirror to see what’s working and what’s not. Sometimes that means changing my style – from skin care to wardrobe to hairstyle. The new year, new you can extends beyond these outward appearance changes and also be an internal reflection on what existential changes we want to make in our lives.

Whether you set goals, resolve to make changes or focus on transformations the key is for these to be realistic and achievable for the year ahead. So that at the end of the year when we sit down and reflect upon our transformed selves we can see the progress we’ve already made and feel confident moving into the next year.
